This is one of our top of the range fountain pens.
When we came across a 400 year old barn in Weybread that was in the process of being converted and in the roof the owners had come across a number of antique oak beams that had apparently been there since the barn was built. After a bit of investigation it would seem that the beams had been harvested from local trees here in Suffolk in the 18th century. It is thought these trees were already very old when they were cut down to make the beams. Therefore it is quite feasible that this wooden pen you are holding has been made from timber approaching 400 years old. We managed to buy up the beams and thought we would do something special with them so have turned them into these exquisite desk pens.
The numbers of these will be limited and hopefully will become something that can be passed on to a younger generation at some point.
The pen itself features a genuine Swarovski crystal inset into the clip of the pen. The gold bands at each end are 14Ct gold plate.
The nib is gold and rhodium plated and comes from a respected German manufacturer. The pen writes beautifully and has a lovely feel and weight to it. The nib supplied is a medium nib that will give a line width of around 0.8mm. Or why not choose another nib to suit your writing needs.
The pen comes beautifully presented in a gift box. It is ready to be presented as a gift or for you to store when not in use to keep in pristine condition.
