Like its larger brother the Suffolk King, the Suffolk Prince has been made to the same high standards from our beautiful antique oak.
The story of the wood used
We came across a 200 year old barn in Weybread that was in the process of being converted and in the roof the owners had come across a number of antique oak beams that had apparently been there since the barn was built. After a bit of investigation it would seem that the beams had been harvested from local trees here in Suffolk in the 18th century. It is thought these trees were already very old when they were cut down to make the beams. Therefore it is quite feasible that this wooden pen you could own for yourself or a loved one has been made from timber approaching 400 years old.
Like all our rollerballs the pen writes beautifully and has a lovely feel and weight to it. The Suffolk Prince is very comfortable to hold and use thanks to a Schmidt refill.
